REPORTS TO: General Manager/Project Manager
POSITION OVERVIEW
The Landscape Designer is a key person in helping to secure landscape contracts and creating satisfied clients. Appointments are booked for the designer at the customers property.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES
- Preparation of landscape plans
including: preliminary 2D concept
drawing, final three dimensional (3D)
photo realistic rendered drawing, planting
drawing, working drawing.
- Meeting with clients at their property to gather the client’s preferences, educate clients on available
garden styles and materials, offer creative suggestions, and solve site related issues.
- Site evaluation including on-site measurements, the analysis of existing visible on-site and
immediate off-site conditions, including the use of zip level for the taking of the landscape’s grades.
- Consultation with construction personnel at Green Apple Landscaping, suppliers, and other experts
to create landscape designs that will be built to accepted best practices and proper technical specifications.
- Presentation of the completed landscape drawings to the client at Green Apple Landscaping’s office or the client’s property.
- Selection and purchase of plants at landscaping nurseries chosen by Green Apple. Meeting with some clients’ at the nursery to guide them in the proper selection of plants for their landscape that are appropriate in all respects including cultural requirements, lighting, soil conditions, moisture, growth habit, colour and texture preferences.
- The placement of the plants at the clients house and the overseeing of planting with the installation crew, including planting themselves, when appropriate. The teaching of best practices to the installation crew.
- Wearing of the company uniform in all client and supplier meetings, and to the company meetings.
- Continuous learning of new materials, best practices, construction specifications, new design software, new features in computer software, and design innovations in the industry.
